CubitalTunnel_SmallCubital Tunnel Syndrome

(Ulna Nerve entrapment and compression)

Cubital tunnel syndrome is common in individuals whose work involves protracted periods of elbow flexion (bent elbow position) such as holding telephones or typing on a keyboard.  In particular, flexion with the elbow pressed against a hard surface increases the risk of cubital tunnel syndrome significantly, because of the increase in the intraneural pressure in this position.  Kyusho connection is that this can also be initiated in people who have received a direct blow against the ulnar nerve.

Other risk factors for this syndrome can be holding a tool in a constant position or performing a repetitive task. The existence of other upper limb work‐related musculoskeletal disorders was also found to be a risk factor as is the use of workers operating vibrating tools.

Another origination for this syndrome could be a spur on the Medial Epicondyle.... in this case the treatment may offer some relief, but it will not eliminate the problem.

Ulnar_claw_handSymptoms

Pain and numbness of the small finger, half the ring finger, outer wrist, elbow and shoulder clavicle meeting.  A tingling in the last two fingers will also occur and in severe cases weakness of the hand, muscular dysfunction of the last two fingers causing them to curl inward and lock.  This position pictured is called the claw hand.

The symptoms can worsen with the repeated bending of the elbow... or pressure on the area and nerve.

This is the sight of what is commonly called the funny bone.

Therapy

Kyusho Health and Wellness treatments like the  Insomnia and Anxiety methods, help release this area along with more localized manipulation.  With more focus on the tunnel and surrounding connective tissue, much of the constriction can be relaxed and release the pain, weakening and other symptoms.  Regular use of the spice "Turmeric" helps reduce inflammationand may help.

Physical exercise you can utilize would be extending or stretching the arm, as it tends to relieve the pain temporarily when the flexion pressure is removed from the nerve. This is also why many doctors recommend sleeping with arm braces that keep the elbow at 45 degrees or others at full extension.
