Rapid Body Shift Applications
In Oyata's Tomari Passai, there are two sections of the Kata where 3 rapid succession punches are thrown. However these, as we learned in the prior application, do not need to be punches, they can be grabbing, clasping or seizing of the head and or neck. When delivered with rapid body shift, we can easily induce whiplash, unconsciousness, parallelization and even fatality.
This must not be deployed in long exaggerated strokes and body shift as depicted in the Kata, but rather in a shorter spastic application for greater effect. Wat are these affects and potentials... let's take a closer look.
