There is a Tsunami coming in Kyusho
Kyusho surfaced in the public in the 1980's and has been greeted with skepticism from the very start.
At first it was that too many were set in their "Traditional" ways and could not see beyond them. This is natural and although surprising to some, it is how any new paradigm is greeted... first with disbelief, then animosity then acceptance. This is as true with Kyusho as it was with the new ideas of Copernicus, Galileo, Franklin, Edison and the list through history too lengthy to complete.
The greatest innovations are the ones we take for granted, like light bulbs, refrigeration and penicillin. But in a world where the miraculous very quickly becomes common-place, how can an organization, maintain a spirit of innovation year after year?
Nurturing a culture that allows for innovation is the key. Some were big wins, others weren’t. Although much has changed through the years, I believe our commitment to innovation at Kyusho International speaks for itself and remains constant.
By getting rid of what does not work, what is false and what is causing conflict or friction in order to make the advancements the future generations demand... that is where innovation starts and can perpetuate.
Here are 8 principles of innovation learned along the way:
HAVE A MISSION THAT MATTERS
We use this simple statement to guide all of our decisions. When we start work in a new area, it’s often because we see an important issue that hasn’t been solved and we’re confident that technology can make a difference. Our mission is one that has the potential to touch many lives, and we work to insure that all our affiliates feel connected to it and empowered to help achieve it.
THINK BIG BUT START SMALL
No matter how ambitious the plan, you have to roll up your sleeves and start somewhere. People thought it was too crazy even to try, but we went ahead anyway and achieve success with many thousands worldwide and we are still growing. We realized that by changing to more sophisticated technology we could do an even better job by devoting additional resources to this project.
STRIVE FOR CONTINUAL INNOVATION, NOT INSTANT PERFECTION
The best part of working on the web is the flexibility to change quickly and decisively cutting the waste and refining the rest. Not many people remember that because we kept iterating and eventually reached the model we have today. And still we’re still improving it every year as we continually hold to our mission and dedication to refinement. This is done through constant experiential courses and hands on research in training, medical and scientific test facilities.
LOOK FOR IDEAS EVERYWHERE
As the leader in Kyusho education and certification we hear ideas from everyone – and that includes our partners, affiliates and yes even competitors in the field. They all help us to know what works, what is needed and most importantly what notto do.
SHARE EVERYTHING
At Kyusho.com we have been the leading source of current and ancient Kyusho information from 1995 where we grew exponentially by sharing everything, you encourage the discussion, exchange and re-interpretation of ideas, which can lead to unexpected and innovative outcomes. We try to facilitate this now by working in small, affiliated bases all around the globe.
SPARK WITH IMAGINATION, FUEL WITH DATA
In our ever changing and increasingly stressful world, it’s hard for people to know, or even imagine, how they can learn a new model or body of knowledge and skill. That’s why we look for those special people who believe the impossible can become a reality and are not afraid to release those that are not in alignment with the protocols, goals and mission. What begins with intuition is fueled by insights... and a constant adhesion to the mission... if it does not accomplish this or the process of simplification and efficiency for those to acquire quickly, it is dismissed.
BE A PLATFORM
There is so much awe-inspiring innovation being driven by people all over the globe. That’s why we believe so strongly in the power of open technologies and refinement in simplification, they enable anyone, anywhere, to apply their unique skills, perspectives and passions to the creation of their own personal and workable style on top of our platforms. This raises the bar for everyone to either reach for and change the dynamic incrementally... we are succeeding!
NEVER FAIL TO FAIL
Some people dwell on our failures in the past or the method of simplification or removing detrimental aspects, but the thing is, people will always remember your hits more than your misses. It’s okay to fail as long as you learn from your mistakes and correct them fast. We have grown so much in skill and knowledge due to these risks and challenges, but the moment you stop taking risks is the moment you get left behind as other have been, we will not accept that.
We just need to continue to say ‘yes’ and resist a culture of ‘no’, accept the inevitability of failures, and continue iterating until we get things better... and we are once again.
What is this Tsunami coming?
It is that Kyusho is not working with pressure points (sorry an old an incorrect model), that working without them is easier, faster and more applicable in shorter training times. It is also more liberating and powerful once understood as it allows freedom of style based and backed by real anatomy, science and medical understanding. It is that Kyusho is not a theory or an incorrect paradigm, a set of techniques or Bunkai that a person needs to remember to attain skill or rank.
The Tsunami is a natural learning methodology developed by Kyusho International and it is headed ashore.
