Throat issues can stem from stress, as a matter of fact stress always manifests in the throat first as the individual "gets all choked up", be it from nervousness, high emotional state  or fear.  Many times if we need to speak in front of large crowds, during an interview or even see a sad movie, the throat begins to swell and cause difficulty in speaking, swallowing or breathing.

This simple recipe can also alleviate sore throat from allergies to colds or strain.  

Sore Throats can be due to a number of things, but typically start with an itching and tenderness when swallowing. This is the best time to apply this method as mentioned earlier, he longer you allow the problem to seat in the harder it will be to relieve. This method may also be self administered with great results, but not as much as if someone else applied this for you.

1.Simply but firmly press a finger nail and hold on the L-11, located on the outside edge of the thumb next to the base of the nail or cuticle. Slightly apply a pulling angle toward the tip of the thumb.

2. The sharper the pain you introduce the more blood will pool back to the area once released and in turn introducing a slight heating aspect.

3. Hold this point for 15 – 30 seconds before releasing, time to hold this point will be in direct relation to the severity of the throat pain.

4. This will also work for emotional release and further escalation into anxiety.

This remedy is good from a certain time frame from 20 minutes to complete cessation depending on the severity of the problem and the time and quality of the method applied. If the problem comes back use the alternate L-11 for more time of relief.  If you are in circumstances that will not allow complete remedy, like heavy use of voice, cool windy environments, or other such physical initiators like continued post nasal drip, you can do this many times each day.  Eventually this time span of relief grows longer between until the problem is gone or your situation allows the healing to seat without further induced stress or strain.  This also method also assists in relieving emotional stress such as when a person gets "all choked up" about something. When the tension and stress levels rise, we have energy that gets stuck in the throat area; this can also lead to stomach issues or that pitted feeling. By releasing the throat you can also relieve this.

When stress initiates your natural tendency is to constrict the muscles, which in turn compresses nerves, nerve transmission and blood flow. And anytime a nerve is affected adversely, it can cause some degree of throat constriction as well as the emotional aspects. 

As an example of the widespread diversity of this point, it can be used for one of the greatest fears people have, being public speaking. The individual can get so worked up or tense, that they begin to have difficulty swallowing or get that choked up feeling which makes speaking difficult and fear to rise leading to even greater tension and stress levels. Working this point can relieve that choking feeling as it calms the tension and constriction in the throat and synergistically the stress, tension and fear (along with the myriad of escalating symptoms as well as the mental anguish). Depending on the level of anxiety, or severity of the symptoms, the number of times and when to start working the points will vary individually. When working on many to all of the recipes in the Health & Wellness section, this is one of the most valuable points as it works the first symptoms of stress so that it may impede the onset of more. If the tension or stress is not addressed in time it will start to make the individual begin breathing high in the lungs or make it labored, which in turn escalates the symptoms and adds even more stress and tension. Our next remedy works this level of symptom.
