Vital Points of Jyodan (Upper Row) and Spots to be attacked

Dokko:   Little hollow behind the ear. - Attack by Isshiken, Dagger and Tettui

Affects:  Fainting - Because of nervous disorder to brain nerves and spinal cord, resulting in loss of both organs of sense and motor function.

This Kyusho Target from Hohan Soken's Secret Notes, is the most commonly used in Kyusho. This is due to it's ease of location, seeing and accessibility even for the novice. It's versatility from sparring to clinched positions all the way to ground fighting makes this a must have in a Martial Artists arsenal.

This is also one of the more prolific targets in most Martial Styles as well as Law Enforcement and general self defense programs for "Pain Compliance". Yet many still have difficulty making it functional beyond this pain compliance as they do not take time to look at the real anatomy underlying the area. Nor do they take the time to understand the physiology and or function the target (anatomical structure) has within the body.

This target also helps the Kyusho Practitioner to understand the terms Hohan Soken used many times in his notes; "Loss of Motor Nerves". As the attack on this target will alter the level of motor skills or function the recipient has by level of severity in that attack. From stumblings as they lose balance and someleg control, to flailing, to collapse to full stop on body action (unconsciousness). These are demonstrated in the extended videos.
