BrainwaveTo Infinity and Beyond...

Kyusho International is constantly researching and digging deeper into the human physiological functionality.  We are not content with the same old model of use for Kyusho (Vital Structures) as there is always more to learn.

This guiding tenant was what the group was organized for as others did not want progression or to understand and to accomplish more through that understanding.

It is also why we no longer work with the "Pressure Point" (yes we used them, but found a better way), model as we have find that this is not the real working model of Kyusho.  This was accomplished by relentless study, research, experimentation and measurement of the science (as well as integration into the Art).  And why our practitioners, be it Martial, Health & Wellness, Energetics and Intimacy, far excel over the old TCM (Pressure Point) practitioners.

This time our study will be conducted in the heartbeat of science, between the two bastions of research, Harvard and MIT in the Cambridge Massachusetts clinic.  The scope of this round of research is to determine the full array of benefit and attributes from postural conformity, that is contained in the array of postures from Martial Arts Kata or form, Yoga Postures and even physical/behavioral attributes.  This will yield new insights (as all past studies have), on how and why they are formed as they are (or how to improve them), the health benefit, the attributes they enhance or subdue and of course, how to better manipulate them for increased, decreased or cessated potential/s.

The 6 types of brainwaves:

Delta is the frequency range up to 4 Hz and is associated with sleep.

Theta is the frequency range from 4 Hz to 8 Hz and is associated with drowsiness, childhood, adolescence and young adulthood.

Alpha (Berger’s wave) is the frequency range from 8 Hz to 12 Hz. Sensory motor rhythm (SMR) is a middle frequency (about 12-16 Hz) associated with physical stillness and body presence. A target will have trouble moving whenever this frequency is applied.

Beta is the frequency range above 12 Hz. Low amplitude beta with multiple and varying frequencies is often associated with active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration.

Gamma is the frequency range approximately 26-80 Hz. Gamma rhythms appear to be involved in higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness.

Mu ranges 8–13 Hz., and partly overlaps with other frequencies. It reflects the synchronous firing of motor neurons in rest state. Mu suppression is thought to reflect motor mirror neuron systems, because when an action is observed, the pattern extinguishes, possibly because of the normal neuronal system and the mirror neuron system "go out of sync", and interfere with each other.

The study is not only about the specific waves measured in each posture or action, but what influences and cross influences occur.  This is what we will then cross reference to past findings and especially experienced applications.

This research began back in 1999 and has continued through today, growing in scope with past findings, new processes and continued applicational experience.  What we have found has not only changed Kyusho, but also it's use in Health, Wellness, Energy, Intimacy and Protection.  With the joint efforts of Gary Rooks and myself (Evan Pantazi), we have continually worked with Doctors, Medical and Scientific Professionals consistently, not only to better understand, but to better perform and educate others in the vast and powerful potentials in Kyusho.

We are not just Karate guys, we are working to find the core, root or essence of the Human Body and how to best manipulate it, (and always with a passion for making the Martial Arts better).
