Kyusho Taekwon-do Black Belt Program 2
Dang Un
Dangun Wanggeom or Tangun, was the legendary founder of Gojoseon, the first Korean kingdom, around present-day Liaoning, Manchuria, and the Korean Peninsula. He is said to be the "grandson of heaven", and to have founded the kingdom in 2333 BC. The earliest recorded version of the Dangun legend appears in the 13th century Samguk Yusa, which cites China's Book of Wei and Korea's lost historical record Gogi (고기, 古記)
Dan-Gun Pattern is named after the Holy Dan-Gun, this is the second pattern in your Taekwondo.
The shape of this pattern is like a capital 'I'. You start and finish where the top of the 'I' crosses the vertical line.
Kyusho LEvels
For the Kyusho TKD levels we introduce the Head Targets of Kyusho more specifically than in the introductory stages of Chong Ji.
In this level we show the powerful affects with several Kyusho knockouts of varying degree.
The degress of unconsciousness are
- Level 1 - Standing KO (TKO or Technical KO in Boxing), where victim is incoherent and impaired physically but still standing and conscious).
- Level 2 - The victim loses control of physical body and falls to the ground, incoherent and impaired physically but still conscious.
- Level 3 - Full unconscious state where they victim falls to the floor (they may awaken somewhat on impact with the floor, but incapable of function).
These methods and targets combined with the tools formed in this pattern are all demonstrated.
12 Knockouts demonstrated from this pattern.
